"I don't have time" must be one of the saddest thing I've probably said a lot lately...but also one that make me realize how crazy and hectic my life has been. When you're studying a Master, working full-time (plus freelancing), doing numerous research, and following your dreams, then becoming crazy and having breakdowns become part of your daily routine.
Don't get me wrong, it's great that I get to follow a course I like and have a job I like and still get time to follow my passions, but it does takes its toll sometimes...
So to all the people who are going through the same thing as me, let me first say that you're doing great and keep going dear. But here are some tips to not go cuckoo!
Planning
I can't stress how much planning is an essential part of any person's lives. If I don't do my planning then I can say goodbye to all the things that I do. My advice is to take time and do a proper planning. What time will you study, when will you do assignments, when will you complete that urgent work? Plus don't forget to include some "me-time" as well.
The fact that I can work full-time, do freelancing, study for my Masters, carry out a research while having two blogs and still make time for friends and family is not a miracle but great planning.
Passion Trumps Laziness
Sometimes I ask myself how I'm able to still be standing after a long working day and class? And the answer is always PASSION! If you're passionate about what you're doing at work plus learning at university, then you won't have time to be tired.
What you'll have is an inquisitive mind to always seek more information about what you like. So my advice to everyone is to always follow your passions - don't do a course just because your friends are doing it or choose a job just because the salary is good. Personal satisfaction is what you should seek.
Support Systems
A great thing you should do is surround yourself with people who supports you 200%. I am lucky to have a great group of people (friends and family) who I can always count on. And they not only are here as support but encourage me to perform and excel.
I always say "you become who you surround yourself with", so why not surround yourself with people who support you, encourage you and also help you in everything? Another tip, which I've applied a lot as well, is to surround yourself with people who are smarter and more experienced that you because then you get to learn from them and you'll gain so much personal development.
It's true that doing all of these can be hectic and drain so much of your energy but one thing that I've also learned is that your life is not only 100% work or 100% study or 100% passion. Your life is an amalgam of all those things, so when things do not go right in one aspect of your life, does not mean your life is over, means you can fix it but you also have other amazing things going well in your life.
Always focus on the positive, work on the negative and ignore the unnecessary
