8 Life Lessons From Game of Thrones

If you want to be a better, wiser, and stronger person, Westeros is not a bad place to start. Filled with dangers and different people with their own agenda, you're sure to learn a few tricks and life lessons along the road. So, to celebrate the upcoming and final season of Game of Thrones, here's 8 life lessons this bloody show has taught us over the years.

The Pack Survives

Yeah, Ned Stark's words are to be taken literally. A person is only stronger when he/she surrounds themselves with a group of support, be it family or friends. Everyone working together is the solution for not only survival but success as well. Remember how the Sparrows overtook King Landing's by working together as well? Until they mess it up of course. But, let's hope all the Starks make it out alive this season!

Fire Cannot Kill a Dragon

Daenerys's words over the seasons of Game of Thrones means more than just walking out alive in hot flames. It means that you are strong and survive in face of adversity to achieve your goals. And that's exactly what she has been doing ever since. From surviving numerous challenges in Meereen and getting her own army to coming to Westeros, she has faced all of her challenges head on and win at each of them. So next time you feel defeated, murmur "Fire Cannot Kill A Dragon".

A Gentle and Strong Man

In the first few seasons, Sansa Stark was obsessed with the good looks of Joffrey Baratheon and believed in the good nature of handsome princes. Well, we all know how that turn out *coughs* "bring me his head" *coughs*. And the surprise came when she married Tyrion, the not-so-handsome dwarf, who treated her much better than anyone else. The life lesson is simple: don't be fooled by people's good looks, fall for someone who treats you right and respects you.

Forgiveness

We were all heartbroken when we discovered that Jorah Mormont betrayed Daenerys back in Season 1. And their relationship has been rocky throughout the seasons but in the end, it proves that forgiveness is the key to restoring every fractured relationship. And they're besties again, much to the dismay of Ser Jorah. One day you'll get to ride the dragon, keep believing. And the Starks have also forgiven Theon for what he has done to them, forgiveness is truly the most decent act.

Two...Three...Four Steps Ahead

Aside from killing a lot of people, plotting to overthrow people in power and using people to his own benefit, Littlefinger had a lot of good advice actually. Ever since he's taken Sansa Stark under his wing, we've come to know more about his motives and ways of doing things. Some life lessons include: keep working hard in silence and let your success make the noise. Or what about always keeping your foes confused and imagining all possible scenarios to be prepared for anything. Seriously, that guy was the OG!

Remember Who You Are, Always

The words that Tyrion Lannister and Jon Snow exchanged back in Season 1 were definitely great. Basically, Tyrion told Jon to always remember who he is (a bastard). But the life lesson is to always know who you are as a person and don't let someone else define you. Use this as your armor and strength.

Redemption

Jamie Lannister became one of the most hated character when he pushed Bran Stark from the tower in the first episode. But now, he is going up North to help the Starks fight the White Walkers. This just proves that we are all complicated beings who do both good and bad things. Even if our past actions were terrible, we can still try and be better, just like Jaime has been doing ever since he lost his hand. Hope him and Brienne get their happy ending!

Rise From the...Walk of Shame

Cersei Lannister, First of her name, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of the Seven Kingdoms, is probably the first person on the to-die list this season. But she has suffered and lost a lot as well. Her father never respected her, her husband did not love her, she had a "complicated relationship" with her twin brother, and she blames her younger brother for her mother's death. Surrounded by men, she still rose and is now the Queen. This shows that even at your lowest point *coughs* shame shame shame *coughs*, you can still rise up and be strong.

Some other great life lessons to take into consideration are;

- be nice and smile, you're sure to obtain everything you want. It did work for Margaery Tyrell, for a time.

- "Always believe in what your heart is telling you, even if the whole world is against you" - Melissandre

- Be ready to take some criticisms...and knives when doing an action. Not everyone will agree with you, isn't it Jon Snow?

- Never make or break an oath that you cannot keep or you'll end up losing every honor you have. RIP Robb Stark, Catelyn Stark, Talisa Stark, Unborn Stark.

- Don't be cocky once you obtain a small win or success, everything can crumble and fall apart at anytime. Just ask Oberyn Martell, he knows this better than anyone.
