We've all felt lonely at some point in our life. Whether it's not having anyone to talk to or feeling like no one is understanding your point of view, loneliness touches everyone of us. I've definitely felt lonely but I couldn't wrap my head around why exactly that loneliness affected me so much. So I did some research and discovered that our loneliness are in fact a blessing in disguise.
I believe that loneliness is the vehicle that launches you for great success.
Sociable and Friendly
Loneliness is a "taboo" for a lot of people who only associate that word with depression or anti-social. Well, let me tell you this, I love spending time with myself and to feel "lonely" but I am one of the most social and friendly person you'll meet as well. Indeed, loneliness does not mean you're afraid of social gatherings and people interactions, it just means you know when to be sociable and when to be with yourself.Me-Time
As a child, one of the best things that I enjoyed the most was coming back to an empty home from school. It was at that moment where I could calm down, have some me-time, and process my own thoughts, away from the school noise. Also, lonely people are never truly lonely, because they have themselves for company and sometimes that's all that matters.Discover Your True Self
Your loneliness can teach you a great deal about yourself. You can start a new activity such as reading, writing, painting, anything that feeds your soul with positive vibes. And more importantly, you get to reflect and focus on yourself. That's one of the most important thing to do in life.Take time to understand your personal needs, what you want to achieve, what makes you happy, what you want to change about your current situation, what makes you excited about life? Your loneliness is the key to unlocking the answers to all those questions.
Feel Alive
Your loneliness also allows you the space you need to fully feel all of your emotions. Whether it is sadness, happiness, disgust, or jealousy, find that emotion within you and express it. Ask yourself why you're feeling that way, what caused that emotion, are you okay with feeling that way, and what can you do to change and be a better version of yourself if need be. After all, we are truly alive when we experience all of our emotions. Your loneliness is the best step to finding your true self.We need to stop viewing our loneliness as a curse but more like a way to be more in-tune with our inner self. Loneliness increases our creativity, intelligence, empathy, energy, and gives us a better view of life and of ourselves.
